What what if I bomb one interview out of 4 on super day McKinsey & Company? Instant reject?

Typically yes, it's an instant reject unless you absolutely crush your other three interviews, as mentioned above. What's "crush" mean relative to "passing"? It means you'd have to have the other three interviewers pounding the table for you and the fourth saying you weren't great but they could see passing you. So again, it's unlikely but not impossible. And A1 above may think s/he bombed, but we're all terrible judges of our own performance in high stress interviews. They clearly did well enough to get an offer. Wishing you the best no matter what happens

I feel like pound the table is something everyone sense in the context of performance management here

Update - this sorry for lack of context here - this was a friend, not me - she did not get the offer I’m worried as I cased with her and we both were at the same level (have mine coming up tomorrow for a phone interview - hoping for the best)

Define bomb? I’m about to go through this

Op i had missed a zero in my 3rd round but the rest of the rounds went great

like

No. I bombed one McKinsey final round and got the offer. It’s better to crush two and bomb one than do ok in all three. They’re looking for your ceiling

no. don't think so.

It depends if it’s something coachable. There is a minimum expectation on calculations expected but if the thinking is right behind it you’ll be fine. Will depend on how well the first few performances are. Good luck and know that you can always seek out feedback from each interview phase

I’ve passed people, even if the calculation was off as long as they had: 1. Clearly structured thinking and good insights on the math- a clear “feel for the numbers” and did a mental check about whether the numbers made sense 2. did very well ( not just bar clearing) on the rest of the interview with me 3. Did very well ( not just bar clearing) on the rest of the interviews with others

Did you get the offer?

A lot of folks think they bomb but land a possible hire or even a hire

Have been through a few rounds of interviews and feel like they have all been great. Last two have been with leaders of various practices and that was supposed to be the end. Now have been asked if I’ll do one more interview with someone in a different specialized practice, and if im interested in that space. Should I take this as a good sign I’ll be offered and they’re trying to place me, or am I being placed on hold while they run down a list of those they liked more and awaiting accepts?

Recently, as you probably know, Dr. Seuss's estate chose to stop printing a few of his older books that had offensive racial stereotypes. There was huge backlash from white people, including teachers here, screaming "cancel culture!" Full disclosure: I'm white. But I'm still enraged by all this. You?
