Dumb question: If a firm wants to run a conflicts, do you just type up a list or do you request from current firm?

I typed up a list! Client, date of representation and scope of representation. But be careful not to disclose any confidential information (which can sometimes include a client’s identity).

To make the task easier, I had my assistant at my old firm pull a list of the matters I had worked on.

like

I was able to download the list of matters I’d worked on from my old firm’s billing software before giving notice. It populated a spreadsheet and I just went through and listed what was requested by my new firm.

I’m struggling to find a full time job right now. I have 16 months of internship experience at a Big4, a 4 month internship at a well known bank and a 12 month internship at a boutique consulting firm.

Any advice on what I can do to land a solid fu time offer?

The first rule of overemployment is dont talk about overemployment to anyone outside your house. :). Second: always protect the main job. Third: As the main job always has the priority, the Second and third jobs must preferably be contract gigs with not too many meetings everyday. Remember: another day, another dollar.

PARTNERS: two questions —1. If you see an associate has really low hours for the month, do you imagine them chillen on a beach somewhere or do you consider they probably spent most of their days sitting in front of the computer being “available”? 2. If you send an associate a random e-mail on a weekend like “Can you pull X and send to Y”, would you get annoyed if they responded saying they weren’t by a comp or would you consider it reasonable that they wouldn’t be by a comp on a weekend?

Currently an associate at a mid-sized firm with “strong potential” to make partner at the end of this year. Things have been toxic for a while, but have cratered in 2021, with few signs there will be any positive changes on the horizon. What are the pros and cons of staying to make partner before trying to go in-house? I’d assumed it would be better to job search with that title on the resume, but am rethinking my assumptions the worse things get.
