Need help deciding if this offer is worth moving for. Received an offer from Booz Allen Hamilton for an Associate level Sr. Systems Engineer in Los Angeles for $135k base. I countered $150k and a $15k singing bonus and asked if I could be brought on as a lead associate since I've been a lead/manager for a while in my current company.
Current company TC: $125k in Utah.
YOE: 7 with M.S. and MBA

Silly question. What are we considering traditional advertising. I may be aging myself but this label is typically (TV, Print, Radio, OOH)?
It may already be dead or nearing its bottom.

It was consumer that did it. I don't mean this as blame but just giving truth. More content and more interesting available via other channels (social, pods, etc)
Influencer did not start social media-- they filled a space. Some smart person once said that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Stop blaming AI or influencer... the world is not static. It is not traditional, or digital or social. Humans do different things all at one time make something meaningful enough, or but inventory good enough to get them to pause for a min.
No more boo hoo on influencers. It is a bad look and always seems to have a tinge of envy.
No more AI is evil. AI is not running itself. There are people (your peers and clients using it). If you'd like you can call the evil, but when they are mile ahead in their ability to produce and generate ideas they will be ahead.

Advertising requires a medium to contain the ad, and a captive or willing audience to see the ad.
The past 25 years has turned media on its head and we keep removing places to put ads, and we keep training the masses to become accustomed to not seeing ads at all or easily skipping them.
So advertising is a sinking ship. Let’s not be surprised anymore. We buried ourselves.
The only thing we really have left is PR. We are now handing our brands to spokespeople (“influencers”) which is a century-old tactic (“four out of five moms choose Kwik-Kleen!”)
This is the advertising bowl, I am nitpicky about terminology. Laypeople conflate “advertising” with “marketing.” We shouldn’t.
An advertisement is something inserted into a media placement or time slot. That’s it. There’s a lot of flavors but they all involve some sort of placement.
PR gets eyeballs on your message without having to pay to fill slots. This is a distinct discipline from advertising.
Sometimes an ad is so creative or big it generates PR. Hence why Super Bowl spots are sometimes worth the money; it’s shown to more eyeballs without having to buy media slots to show an equivalent amount of eyeballs. This is why you and I make big bucks.
I’m not worried about AI stealing our jobs because it’s really bad at A) insights, and B) knowing what is true. Both of these are key ingredients to getting to a good idea.
