Given BCG’s Gaza plan, they are on track

Biggest in terms of headcount? Revenues? Profitability? Headcount is a poor metric for “best” Firm. From where I sit things are humming along and we are quite busy across a number of areas and industries. It is very hard to staff BAs and Associates as few are on the beach, which is generally a good sign. I don’t work at BCG so cannot speak to how things are there but I’d assume similar to us.
The mood is positive these days and nobody cares about being the largest
Partners don’t resign of their own accord.
A conversation was had, and they were deemed not necessary to the firm’s new direction.

Partners have levels and they are also “up or out” roles too - it’s not like you become a tenured professor…
Lower headcount is a good thing when AI is the whole value prop :)
both will need to transform dramatically

BCG revenue to surpass McKinsey
> By 2027, BCG's revenue is forecast to surpass McKinsey's
> In 2012, McKinsey’s revenue was more than double BCG’s (~$8bn vs ~$4bn)
> Since 2021 BCG expanded by ~10× faster.
2024 revenues (estimated)
> McK = ~$16bn
> BCG = ~$14bn
> Bain = ~$7bn

M1 & M6, Toyota is a better business than Ferrari
...and, contrary to popular belief, efficient large scale manufacturing is actually more difficult to do than designing supercars even if designing supercars is more fun probably
Mood is quite upbeat these days

Who is actually working at these firms? With Gen Z focused on work life balance and lattice careers, I can’t see churn and burn factories like MBB lasting for much longer.
At my school MBB is still gold standard for consulting … it’s a prestige thing, it always has been
We will know next month when McKinsey announces number of new partners.
Also some partners resign because they did their term at the firm and they want to do something else before retiring

"I don't think about you at all"
Where’s Bain in all of this?
Who is Bain? 😂😂
I wondered the same thing
Every org has to absorb or create new partners. There are only fixed partner seats, so to make way for the incoming partners you have to let go unless your business is growing so rapidly.
You must be referring to revenue not number of employees because they definitely aren’t the biggest in employee terms
Growth doesn't necessarily correlate with quality. Accenture is bigger than all of them, but it's not A MBB.
