Hi guys,
I am currently on notice period and my LWD is Sep 2, 2022. Today, I got an offer from state street mentioning my joining date as Sep 12, 2022 even though I already told HR that I would like to join from Sep 5 itself. How can I convince HR to prepone my joining date to Sep 5, 2022. I don't want to lose my one week salary guys. Pls suggest. State Street

Or upload your W-2 here! We can then provide feedback.
With SSN and DOB please, that’s the only way we can tell you if you got the right refund
All else equal you should receive $0 and pay $0 when filing. Some may say the more you owe the better because a free loan from the government is better than giving the government a free loan. Your refund is dependent on wage income, interest income, capital gains, filing status, credits, deductions, dependents, and dozens of other factors.
I always have to pay rather than get a refund and that makes me feel smart 😜
Yeah you won’t be able to compare against someone else. You could upload your W2 to an online tax program (federal is usually free) and they’ll give you a refund estimate in a few minutes, won’t have to submit it.
Here’s a question you should know the answer to and you should ask your accountant how to achieve: what is the optimal refund amount?
