What's the best way to reach out to a company that doesn't have posted roles that you want, but their site says to e-mail them? Is it just a simple "Hi, my name is ____, I have xyz background and I'm looking for this role? Here's my resume" type of deal or is there more to it? Instead of saying the type of role, would you instead go over the skills you have and ask to chat about where you may fit in?
