What's the best/cheapest way to get United club access at sfo? Sfo is a nightmare these days. Non existent wifi and no where to sit. The new part is fine by the old part is awful.

Go Amex plat. Centurion lounge is money

like

Why bother? United Clubs are a joke. I believe Priority Pass has access to the AF lounge at SFO

like

What other "bennies"?

like

Probably the club card, $395/year. Plat Amex will get you in the much nicer centurion lounge. CSR will get you priority pass. United club memberships are $400/year.

What is priority pass?

And csr?

Have you been living under a rock?

Chase Sapphire Reserve, Priority Pass is a membership to various lounges, mostly int'l airlines

Yep. OP recommend doing some research on Amex plat vs CSR vs United club lounge. Those are your options

Yes on Amex Plat Centurion! If this is your airport, so many other bennies with the card. I rationalize every year. I have United Club and pass it right by on my way to CL. Love it! ❤️🍷

Does anyone have any advise on how to become a staff video editor at a creative production company? They usually don't have any "job openings" listed on their site.

I have 5+ years of experience working at a creative ad agency, but much of the work was pitch/sizzle videos (yuck).

I'm freelancing now which has been a great step in the right direction but I'd eventually love to be on staff at a post house like The Den, Cut+Run, Company 3 etc. pumping out cool work. Just seems hard to break in.

I think I may have finally had it.

A couple of decades in this field and now I want to just walk away. The grind in tech is soul-destroying, and the vast majority of the time, coworkers outside of UX have no idea what it is, what it’s for, and how it’s applied. I’m at my wits end and the constant problem is a kind of “willful misunderstanding” of our process and value.

After wasting too many years on design immature companies, It’s senselessly depressing. I’ve given away too much of myself.

Hey fishies, I have a friend who is interested in becoming a consultant but he’s taken an interesting path, would love your advice on any good angles he could take for applying/ types of roles. He has a bachelors in science (chemistry maybe?) from H/Y/P and after undergrad he took a less traditional route and was working as an instructor for things like tennis, piano, snowboarding, etc.. He’s a really smart, personable person who I think would be great in consulting. (Continued)

A friend of mine from a top tier consulting firm was counseled out. Do you consider it ethical that his career counselor is intentially spreading the information to his colleagues and to other consultants from other companies in the project? What can he do about it? Specially that he considers the potential layoff is purely based on the current situation (chargeability was low) and not on his performance (they said that his contribution to BD during his bench time was low)?
