Equity Partner will be extremely limited going forward. People will be pushed to MD or Level Leader as terminal roles. Trying to thin the herd at SM, also transitioning to a ‘kill what you eat’ model on sales and revenue metrics. People will jump or be forced out.
Supposedly there will be benefits changes under the new job families as well. No info on that yet.
No resource manager. Internally network to get on a project, do good work, get staffed. Repeat.

Wrong. It’s a destination on the same level as partner. Nothing is being added before partner: path is still SM/equiv to PPMD(L).
The pyramid based leverage/business model is reaching its limits within Big4. Both due to maturity of the industry as well as onset of AI. Smaller nimbler firms can adapt more easily without disrupting the legacy partner-oriented career model. Given the rigidity and overhead of Big 4, the shift requires more drastic and disruptive moves. In my opinion it will still take a decade for the old generation to retire before the culture fully catches up to the new op model.
This still doesn’t fix the massive infrastructure issue. We spend too much on enabling areas, global and have too many high unit, no revenue partners.
In others news, we intend preserve and not dilute our equity as the market contracts over the next 10 years
Billing rates are coming down and costs are going up and it won’t change - even before the ai hype cycle this was happening. The only way to preserve profitability is to close the book and dampen the slope of the pyramid.
No amount of “governance processes” or stewardship can change that, unless of course we decide to make less, which no equity partner would ever agree to….
