As of yesterday, even though I applied in May, and that while they liked my application, they will not be considering me till early 2023.
This is the second time they pushed back their consideration... 😞

It is a risk tolerance that's likely different for each of us. A few thoughts...even in the lower 4.x range, it's worth looking at to make sure something recent didn't happen that's suddenly dragging down a higher 4.x company.
But for me, I think 3.6 is where a yellow flag gets raised. Low 3.x definitely draws concern and I would always carefully read reviews for the past 18-24 months. Anything below 3.0 requires careful vetting...either the company is currently problematic or was problematic and getting fixed/better.
This was an interesting question. The other thing I will say is that you do have be thoughtful using GD reviews. They are just like Tripadvisor hotel reviews whereby you really have to sift through a bulk of the reviews before making a judgment.

I have no doubt reviews are skewed towards the negative because people who are happy are less inclined to voice their opinion. However, that skew generally applies across board making the ratings scale fairly consistent. So unless a bunch of employees conspired to trash the company then that 2.1 is probably accurate. Now would I trash a company for lack of a 401k match? Probably not. It's a nice bonus but there are much more important things about working for a company that make or break your time there: transparency, communication, benefits, culture, work/life balance, etc.
For me, anything 3.5 or lower would require a lot of scrutiny and anything below 3 is a definite deal-breaker.
I try to filter those reviews by job role. Sometimes a place has multiple different operations and maybe some segments of the business truly do suck but the software dev side is totally fine.
But if the devs say the place sucks too then I'm out.
