I currently have two private industry senior tax analyst job offers. One is for a publicly-traded company which I will mostly be working on compliance and occasionally help with provisions. The returns are also prepared in-house. The other is not publicly-traded and I’ll be working on all aspects of tax such as compliance, provisions, and indirect taxes. But the returns are prepared by an accounting firm. Which job do you think will require more OT?

Currently living with parents in Charlotte (26 yrs old) and start new job August 3rd. I probably won’t be back in office until Jan 1 but I’m contemplating starting a new lease in NYC in Sept or Oct for independence, productivity, and favorable rent prices. Part of me thinks that dumb with things being closed and how much I could save at home but I’m ready to be on my own. What are everyone’s thoughts who’ve dealt with a similar situation? Currently, in accenture. I have had very bad billable hours and not much achievement this fiscal year. I am worried of getting fired, so i applied for another job. Got offered may be 5% above my current pay with 5k bonus, but in lower level at Deloitte. I think working lower level will give me more opportunities to learn as i think i have lot to learn. I made decision based on my gut and accepted the offer. I have not talked to anyone on accenture side yet. What you think?
