New/pivoting into HR! 👋 Currently working as a TA Coord with a little entry level work in HR Ops prior to this. Is there a SHRM link, reliable test, or method of shadowing the various parts of HR that will provide a sample of the work, thinking, and day to day experience of each group? I didn’t go to school for HR and therefore haven’t had the opportunity to sample HR Ops. vs. TA vs. Comp vs. Benefits vs. Payroll, etc. I know work experience is the best barometer, but what can supplement this?
It'll probably vary based on location and YoE, but you're probably looking at around $100k
I would be looking into the Chicago area or Michigan area

Ive never seen a generalist non-exempt, is that typical??
Not sure! I’ve been applying to HRG jobs in hotel and they are all offering around 20/hour
About $50-65k but it also depends on location and the type of hotel (conventional vs. luxury)

I work in hospitality. It’s highly unlikely to be 100k unless it’s corporate and you’re overqualified for the role.
HR Generalists usually are non-exempt if they’re based at an actual hotel since they report to either a HR Manager/HR Director. The pay will vary but I would say anywhere between $20-$32 an hour depending on the size of operation and cash flow of the hotel.
