What’s the most underwhelming reward you’ve ever received for going above and beyond? I just got a spot bonus for saving a massive deal, and it was literally a $50 Starbucks gift card. It’s almost more insulting than receiving nothing at all. I’m currently updating my resume while sipping a free latte that cost me my weekend.

We have something called an Uplift where if you do something good, anyone can send an Uplift and it’s about $5-10. I worked a lot of overtime’s and was presented with just that. I feel like the company needs more ways to show recognition.

Sure - when I had my review two years ago I was asked by my CEO what I wanted to achieve in the next year/where I saw my role heading. GM of Ops has recently retired & I’d taken on the lion’s share of responsibilities.
I said wanted to grow into that role & he agreed & we talked about what that would look like. Fast track 2 years & comfortably doing said responsibilities so put forward a proposal for title change & remuneration adjustment when I had my review. Was asked to email it to him so he could give it his full attention. Two weeks later when I followed it up, in the week before Xmas break & was blithely told ‘I haven’t even read it’… no discussion… oh and yes was given a 5/5 rating but bonus was half the year before & wage increase didn’t cover CPI.

I got to keep my job for at least one more quarter for shortening monthly audit process timing by 75%. Still might not be enough.

My husband received a $500 bonus for his 30-year anniversary with his Tech company, plus an extra 5 paid days off per year. He has so many paid days off accumulated over 30 years that he won't be able to use them by the time he retires. And no, the company won't pay him the days off accumulated days off after he retires.

Hi! I have a quick question and could use some advice:

I have 1 job offer that is an hour away and pays 45k, after negotiations (Research Associate Position at a University) .

I have just interviewed for a position closer to home and a base salary of 65k, but haven’t heard back from them in about 2 days (He said he would make a decision by yesterday and I’ve reached out).
I have to decide on the first offer by Thursday but I haven’t heard back from the second yet. Thoughts on next move?

Hi- I’m an hourly AA, been on the role for 6 months now and it’s my first AA job. I did not get a raise when I took the job because it was technically a demotion ( I was a team leader at a contact center). I assist two VPs and now they want to add a third because they’re looking for the “ 3:1 ratio “. Should I ask for a raise? Is this normal? I know another AA that handles 3+ people but idk if she’s hourly or salary. Any thoughts?

Currently a Wealth Advisor for Citi but I honestly hate it here with a passion it’s the worst company I’ve ever worked for in my life and I’ve been in Wealth Management in the banking channel for over a decade. Series 7, Series 63, Life, CFP, ChFC, and soon to have my MBA with a focus in Mergers & Acquisitions. I’m look to enter another area of Finance at this point instead of starting over somewhere else from scratch, but not sure what direction to go. Interested in Investment Banking or M&A.

Boston SFA 5 years exp (Corporate finance). My research shows 110-120k for comp range. Does that sound right to others here?

I am a registered sales assistant which means I have my series 7. I also have the 63 and my Life & Health license. I was a financial advisor but the role is commission only so I decided to take a role as an assistant for some time to learn etc. I really like my role, but I only make 32k a year and after taxes I only take home about 25k. I have a gut feeling that I’m not being paid market value but it’s tough to find comparable salaries. Do you think $15.38/hr is a fair wage in this case?

I have an offer and want to negotiate

1. London base salary but I have to absorb all the expenses (train + stay)
I am thinking to negotiate to

2. home base salary and have my expenses paid for

I know that's depends on the amount I have to travel (and potentially stay) but at the moment this is unknown. Past 8 months was just twice a month + 2 nights stay.

The only thing I know is it won't be every week, the return trian ticket is about £80-100, depends I could plan ahead.

Curious what’s a fair salary in MA? Was just told that there is likely not going to be a chance for a raise during my upcoming performance review due to my salary already being “above average for the industry” based on my employer’s questionable research. I’ve been with the company 8.5 years & am the only one in my role, which they can’t operate without. I execute tasks from two investment advisors and two financial planners - they make the decisions of what should happen & I make it happen.
