My estimate just decreased because booz Allen doesn't do CSR. We don't need sustainable practices to ensure that we don't gobble up the federal government or engage in exploitative business with them. We are specifically the exploitative alternative to the government's staffing practices, so we aren't changing that. We don't do anything that imacts the environment aside from operate some corporate data centers and client data centers. And our clients decide when/where our employees commute.
Presumably you're looking for work life balance, or you'd stay at D. I'd look at vw, Siemens, Dominion, Bechtel, etc.
First guess, $100k. What function?
CSR
Ba1, could you expound more on that or provide some context to someone not familiar with that csr term?
Corporate social responsibility is a term used to describe corporate initiatives that ensure that busienss practices produce Goodwill with:
-regulators
-shareholders
-employees
-special interest groups (particularly human rights and environmental types) (this is the most important one, bc if you don't, they'll attack you for their gain)
-sustainable for their own benefit
We aren't under threat by any regulators except DCAA which we counteract through ethics training. Our shareholders just want us to be profitable. Our employees are bought into the fray. We don't pollute much. We don't exploit factory workers overseas. We don't even employ labor that could become a union issue. So I'm confused what CSR we would hire for.
BA1, I’m inquiring about a specific job I’m applying to. So, yes, they call themselves the CSR department, but aren’t “technically” CSR in the strongest sense of the word. But it’s definitely a real job posting
@OP no doubt it's a real posting. Given everything I observed, I don't think it's too high on the totem pole. Also, we sometimes have 'fake' openings on the website that don't align to real needs, but keep the feelers out there. Usually, those are for client service roles, but I digress. Good luck with the hunt. They'll probably make you an offer if you're qualified!
BA1, thanks so much for your thoughts :). I actually spoke to the person who’s leaving the role, so I know it’s real! :) Just trying to figure out if the salary would be worth it. Can you explain the career progression at BAH? I’ve googled it but still not sure Associate is the right level if I were to make the jump
