Can be higher based on demand..
Normally this is the pay scale which is mentioned above. But mostly it's depend on skill.
I have seen people with 3 yoe getting 14 lpa.
20-25L
If it's a hot skill then it's this range
Its 20lakhs + variable pay for lateral hires, and mostly it depends on your current CTC.
Is that package includes variable pay ??

How much they are giving you?
You will get 40-50% variable for sure. Also there should be joining bonus around 2.5-3.5 L

Why going at a level 9 with 8+ YOE? Is it all not relevant?

From my perspective, level 9 is beneficial , if they have matched your salary expectation.
In the coming years, you can easily present your case for level 8 promotion and get approx 18% additional hike on your salary.
Level 9 to 8 is relatively easy..
Level 8 to 7 requires lot of efforts , it's very political as well to get that promotion..
At this time, they would check how much time the candidate has spent in Accenture etc. etc. , getting this promotion for a lateral resource would be somewhat difficult as well...
Also lower level, lower responsibility and more salary..
I have seen people wanting to be in this situation..
Rest is upto you..
