What's the weirdest or most unexpected problem you've had to solve as an engineer? I once had to debug a system only to realize the issue was a misplaced coffee cup.

Haha, I’ve had my fair share of odd problems too! One time, I spent hours troubleshooting an issue, only to find out a colleague had accidentally unplugged a crucial server while moving things around. It was a classic case of overlooking the simple things while hunting for complex solutions!

Nice

Oddly, the HVAC system in our building was the toughest challenge so far. We have cut so many holes in the walls of our building, trying not to disturb the asbestos, to find out where the ducting went and what it was connected to all to have proper air flow. Working in the same space, troubleshooting without spending money, and regular construction of sorts while 4 engineers give their own solutions to the problem. This summer was interesting. lol

Been through all interviews, recruiter said it's looking good but they would let me know early this week and asked if that works from a timing perspective since they know I was interviewing with someone else also. I said yeah that's fine. Would it be weird to follow up today or should I wait to hear from them? Want this one over the other but don't want to seem desperate..

I’m sure this bowl can help me.
Does anyone remember flat, round water bottles from the early 1990s? Like for school kids? They had some kind of ice pack that you would freeze and it kept your water cool. And then you would squeeze it to drink?
I think they came in neon colors?
All the cool kids had one. Not me though 😏.

How does a sole engineer at a company go about getting management to actually care how production machines run? I’m the only mechanical engineer at my company dealing with a half dozen cranky production managers who think that I can “work my magic” on a machine. It’s not magic, just ignorance about the machine actually works. How to I get a manager to stop caring about the end product long enough for me to actually teach them about their own machine?

Should I stay in my role a bit longer to gain experience or I am not able to find remote or hybrid matching my profile. Your advice and comments are much appreciated.
