PM in tech one of the best roles in terms of WLB and comp if you aren’t technical. There’s real ownership.
Not true at all, SC2. I was a PM in fintech prior to b-school, did 3 years in consulting, and now a PM at Google. While some aspects of the job are similar to consulting, the hours are definitely not the same. Additionally, not having fire drills every week and deliverables with quick turnarounds also brings a lot more sanity to your personal life
It’s a widely respected role, especially if you work on a cool product or initiative. It shows that you can successfully balance technical know-how with the softer skills. Generally, it’s a spring board to tons of great exit opportunities.
Google PMs I think are fairly technical. U really can’t get through the interview process if you aren’t.
I’m non-tech and have been interviewing with FB🤞... what level of tech is needed for google interviews? Like general assembly course, or extensive boot camp/MS program, git+experience?
PM roles are the most prestigious roles in tech. High impact, good WLB, very high comp and well respected.
PM influence and comp ladder is higher than bizops, hence motivation for switch
I hear the pay is comparable to MBB associate salary but how does it progress?
