I’m medically retired so I’m allowed in but honestly they suck lol. They have like crackers and sprite and water and there’s never anywhere to sit. The one in Charlotte is terrible. You’re really not missing out.
If you can afford lounges you aren’t missing much. It’s more geared towards fresh lower enlisted who has to TDY and can’t even afford food court lol
The only time I think is handy is if i have to work on something on laptop I feel more comfortable bc it’s a more “restricted” crowd than doing it at like Panda Express food court (I don’t have any lounge access)

so most ppl I know with lounge access don't pay for it directly, it's like buying a magazine at the grocery stand vs subscription price difference.
most common way is to get it through a credit card with annual fee that includes a bunch of other stuff. Effective price comes out to pretty cheap or better than free for the 1st year.
I'm confused about the point of this post. You're calling yourself out for not being eligible to use them, so why ask other people their experience? Are you trying to find a way to use USOs if you're not authorized? Looking for sympathy for not knowing the rules?
Rising Star
relax bro it’s not coming out of your pocket try answer the question maybe also
I’ve only visited the Atlanta USO between deployments and haven’t been back in years, I don’t think I’ll ever go back since it gives me nightmares lol.
You’re not missing much, bunch of cheap snacks and drinks as well as some TVs and video games. You’re better off going to the Delta or AMEX lounge.
Rising Star
yea to a younger fella free snacks were worth getting in trouble for ha. Sapphire Lounge is where it’s at now :)
I’ve only been to one on my way to Afghanistan. It was nothing to write home about.
Wait, vets can’t use USO? Dang
Rising Star
ymmv lol
It’s not nearly as nice as commercial lounges
No it’s still night and day worse at uso lol.
