I have an ultra wide 34 inch and it’s been really useful for having multiple screens side by side.
Oh, good to know. Thanks!
I prefer my trusty 4x Sony Trinitron FW900 CRT’s. They are bulky but I can spread my sheets all over those bad boys.
Lol, you’re hilarious. man.. i still had a hitachi tv like that. Probably one of the first 40.” I kept waiting for it to die.. it never did. Lasted like 15 years, i finally got rid of it a few years ago.
Chief
How tf do you guys work on a monitor that big? I’d have to have excel on 200% zoom
Lol yeah.. I’m concerned about that too. Shoot, I’ve started to have to zoom my onenote sometimes.
I have the 49" from LG and a 27" beside it. Deal with substantially sized arch diagrams and it makes a huge difference. However, I feel squeezed for space when I have to travel and work off a 15" MBP
Text seems to be appropriately sized.. I do find myself using zoom in/out kb shortcuts more often; but nothing that would give me reason for pause to purchase again
That’s seems huge. I have 2 24 inch monitors and it’s more than sufficient. I like the ability to have separate screens for presenting
Yeah, i run a 27” as my main and laptop on a mount. I run presentations on my laptop as the resolution is better for desktop sharing and i use that camera.
I’m really happy with my 27” monitor for work. Anything bigger is overkill than 32” in my opinion. Samsung had a 49 inch for sale not too long ago. What entices me about the bigger screen is the PBP . I like the idea of work on one side and personal on the other side, whether it be personal Pc Or games. some downsides is the mouse drag and reduced performance screen sharing. YT the brand for reviews before purchasing!
Ewww.. i never thought about the mouse drag. I just thought if the refresh is high enough and I use thunderbolt I would be okay?
I have a Samsung 49” ultra wide, great for working. Not so great for presentations.
Okay, thanks SC1 I’ll keep them in mind then
I have a 34in ultra wide, and I wish I sprang for the 49inch. 4inch gets me by but the screen split is two squares vs two full size monitors on the 49.
Screen share is not as big of a deal as people make it out to be. On zoom you can share a portion of your screen, and it always shares the same portion until you adjust it, I just set it to share half my screen and just snap windows to that side before sharing.
On skype just share the window instead of the desktop.
Oh, I use the share window option. But on your big monitor it sees the software defined portion as a “window?”
37 inch curved lcd with the laptop open on a stand beside it
I’ve been thinking curved too. I don’t really care for the look, but A1, it’s necessary to see the edges without moving your head right?
I have a 27” 4K monitor and use my 15” laptop as my second screen. Works great for me.
Oh, this is my current setup actually. I have my laptop on an adjustable arm to raise it to eye level. I just feel like i need a little bit more space so i can quit having layers. Like my current (and have had others) client requires me to connect to VDI all day. I’d love to have that in another window.
I’m using 27” and 24” happy so far, no need to look into the 13” laptop screen anymore
Do you use your laptop as a 3rd display or not really?
Three 27” monitors
Oh interesting. I’ve thought about the top monitor config, but wasn’t sure how I would use it. Thanks for the help!
