Chief
"because I believe that's the value I bring"
Try not to burst out laughing when saying so

Inflated, not intrinsic value
😂
Why do you have to justify it? You should state politely that it's your expectation and that's the pay you're willing to switch for.
If they insist on an explanation, you could state that, "Based on my research of pay ranges for similar skillset and experience in the present market scenario, I believe X to Y is a fair range, especially considering my proven track record with relevant experience and a diverse skillset".
Once you get your first offer with a number close to your expectation, the need for justifications subside in subsequent interviews. Good companies are willing to pay for quality candidates and your interview performance should justify the ask rather than your explanation to HR.
*There are always exceptions where the company simply cannot pay you the amount you're asking because it either falls way outside the band of the role/level they're hiring for or they don't have the budget (applicable only for start-ups).
I avoid all the above mentioned explanation and simply ask for my desired CTC.
Then they agree to provide the said offer with another question asking that won't you counter us later with another increased offer? 😂
One HR went ahead and asked me to provide surity that if they provide the asked salary, would I definitely join?
Say, I deserve it.
Thats it, No explanation nothing.
Tried once. The HR simply shut up and told me to apply on the link he sent 😁👍🏻
