I am currently pursuing a position to be a 401k workplace planning consultant with Fidelity Investments. I would like to connect with someone who has gone through that training and early hiring process to make sure I have a solid understanding of the position. This is specifically for the Raleigh/Durham NC area if possible.

You don’t. You always pivot towards something, not away from something. I am excited about this amazing opportunity to get to do X!
Wasn’t the right fit
True.

Try to make every jump about going TO something vs leaving something.
If it was big —> wanted a smaller scrappier environment
If it was small —> wanted the resources and exposure of a large agency
Etc.
Used this in my last interview and felt good about it.
“I wanted a new experience”
“I felt like I hit my ceiling and there was no room for growth or learning”
"I wasn't feeling challenged"

This is one of those questions that has bad answers and okay answers. You’re never going to get hired because of how you answer, but it’s very possible you’ll get rejected. So safe answers are the move. Many good ones here.
In the years I’ve been hiring, always surprised how often people blow themselves up on this type of question. I’ve had people confess to theft, harassment, and assault in response to these types of questions. I give them points for honesty, but ????? I’m not going to hire you if you got in a physical fight at your last job.
