I think Sep 15th. Sure I read that somewhere. That said always best to wait till the check is in the bank.

I'm planning on doing this the very next day...

Agree with D1.

It's going to come in on the first or second paycheck in October. They owe you nothing if you resign prior to getting your bonus, so wait until it's in your account or assume you don't get it. Also, it might burn bridges to resign immediately after getting your bonus. Ideally it's better to wait a bit but if you don't mind the stigma it might assign to you then October is the time to do it.

Thanks P4. The way I look at it, it's bonus for FY16 that I've earned so anyone getting upset about quitting the day after can do you know what :)

Hi all. I am trying to determine if I am being compensated fairly. I am a tax manager (about to start my second year as manager) and have been with EY since staff 1. I was promoted to manager in June 2020 (during covid) and received a 7.5% raise. The class above me has mentioned they received much higher raises during their promotion years. My base salary is now approx. 97K. Any insights would be extremely helpful. Thanks!

I'm early in my career, managed to save $30K to invest, and want to get my hands dirty with a rental property without too much risk (e.g. no HML/flipping). It sounds like that's a tall order in the NY/CT area given the prices, not to mention whether I'd be able to get a mortgage on anything below $100K, but I figure I'll give it a shot anyway. Any advice on what you might do in my position? Am I being crazy with this idea?

Based on the Gross salary offered I have calculated the in hand salary per month would be around 152000 considering 150000 in 80C, 50000 in NPS and 200000 deductions due to home loan interest. Total tax liability is around 400000. Any other options do I have to save tax further (other than HRA, LTA)? Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Currently, in accenture. I have had very bad billable hours and not much achievement this fiscal year. I am worried of getting fired, so i applied for another job. Got offered may be 5% above my current pay with 5k bonus, but in lower level at Deloitte. I think working lower level will give me more opportunities to learn as i think i have lot to learn. I made decision based on my gut and accepted the offer. I have not talked to anyone on accenture side yet. What you think?

So i have been fortunate that i have managed to go through my career without the need for a degree. I was lucky enough to have been hired by one of the worlds top consulting firms, worked with a whole lot of big clients and travelled a lot. It's gotten to the point where I am not even asked about the lack of a degree on my resume. Personally though, it bothers me. I have a whole bunch of certifications in my industry…but just no formal degree. (cont'd)
