Which one to choose between Optum and Tiger Analytics for Data Scientist position? Where can I expect better data science domain expertise (In my previous companies I found very less understanding of Data Science practices as team)? Heared good things about both of these. Also hearing Tiger is expanding rapidly and getting some crap projects as well in the name of data science. Could someone put light on these things?

Following! I’m in a similar spot and my approach so far has been to be upfront about what flexibility means to me. If not, how can it work out? For example, I need to leave at 4:30 to pick up my kids or how much weekend work you are willing to take on.
I tell them what I need from them and start the conversation from a position that OF COURSE it will be fine. It almost always is.
This. Tell them upfront what your boundaries are. The reaction will likely tell you everything you need to know.
Agree. Tell them upfront so you’re not skating around the fact when they schedule a meeting during pick up time. I took a new job during Covid that was obviously remote. I did hire a babysitter to get my kid off the bus and watch him for a couple hours after school. Only because when I was going into the office I would never expect them to not schedule meetings at 3:30pm so I can pick my kid up. Why should I expect them to do that now that I’m WFH? With that said, if it’s part of the deal of you taking the job you can 100% do that. Just be upfront from the start. Good luck!

I worked with a guy with no kids who laid out upfront that he needs to walk his dog certain hours. If he can do it you can!
