He has applied fr the match last yr & was nt able to match. Match process costs around USD10k; this year he is applying again after borrowing funds frm different sources bt he is under tremendous pressure to get match. I am going to start a career as a Patient Access Rep soon. I have previous admin experience and I am wondering if I should ask for a pay increase to salary? The starting pay for this position is 16.25 but I am wanting to ask for 19up…How much are patient reps making now days in this medical field?

Misled on Maternity Leave Policy. I found out I only get 4 weeks pay for maternity leave (STD +“sick days”). I will take 12 weeks but wont get paid for 8 weeks. I work for a US, west coast based company in the tech/VC industry. Their website claims to offer “paid parental leave and other progressive benefits for parents”. I didn’t find out until after I was hired their pay was only 8 weeks but since I have been at the company less than 12 months, I don’t qualify for their policy. Is this unfair?

Newbie to healthcare here with a very basic question: if a provider stores medical records electronically, and a patient requests those records to be sent via mail, is it still considered ePHI/EHI? Has anyone heard or experienced going on maternity leave, then leaving shortly after returning? I'm hearing from my husband's company if he takes pat leave, and leaves shortly after returning, he'd have to repay the wages paid while out on leave. Is this only for pat leave and the person who gives birth wouldn't have to pay back as it's technically disability pay? Trying to weigh my options as I want to get out of my company, but want the mat leave first.

Had a really bad day 😞 I don’t know why I keep doing this to myself. Things will be going well and then out of nowhere I get blackout drunk. I am tired of feeling sick and anxious from drinking. I don’t really even want to drink sometimes but do it anyway. Blacked out last night, and still feel sick now. I’ve never shared with anyone that I have this problem, until I found this message board. I have so much anxiety that I won’t be able to get this under control. I feel isolated and sad.

Is sticking up for yourself even worth it? My boss is always on my ass as if I’m constantly missing, or about to miss, deadlines. I’ve never missed one. I’ve received the same damn lecture/email about monitoring all case deadlines a hundred times. I always just professionally explain that we’re not about to miss any and discuss the progress. Well, I’ve about had it and am ready to go off. I’m sick of basically being told that I’m not doing my job. How should I address this issue?

I have technical writing experience, but I don’t have experience with clinical studies or clinical trials. Does anyone have any advice on how I can gain more experience in this field? Mechanical engineering grad, joined a medical device startup that I had done co-ops at. 8mo into full-time, pivoted from engineering into more of an operations role doing new product introduction (NPI), now with 3 direct reports.

Would like some thoughts on a 2-br NYC condo my husband and I are considering. $250K HHI (no kids). No loans or debts, both have newish cars fully paid off.

Offer would be for $725K, with 10 percent down. 30yr mortgage @5%. We would need to include closing costs in the mortgage, to keep about $10k liquid. Monthly costs will be about $5k.
