When you passed the CPA exam, did you buy yourself a gift? If so, what did you get?

Didn't end up making the cut in Strategy consulting case interviews. Would really like to do strategy / S&O some day. I love using data to inform decision-making.

Wondering if it would make sense to continue consulting in implementation then try to pivot again in the future or at another level - or drop consulting & try to get a strategy job at a startup or maybe do something else at a larger company and try to pivot internally.

So, a recruiter gave me feedback that my lack SPHR or SHRM-SCP is causing my resume to be knock out by AI and human recruiters despite my position and work history in Multinationals and being in Technology. They suggested that we put SPHR ( Lapsed). I let it lapse in 2017. What is your opinion? Plus if I were to take another certification - should I take SPHR or SHRM-SCP?

Benefits to scrum or PMP certifications as a low level Associate? All the positions I see require 5+ years scrum experience. Also would appreciate people’s perspectives on scrum vs PMP in general. I’m a people person and quite good at leadership so I feel my talents are being wasted managing client direction on funds day to day.

They do the whole "your background and expertise is exactly what we're looking for" then turn around and offer a salary range that is 20k below my current level. I really wanted to work with Airbus but they are not budging from the offer of 23 even after I told them I have a better offer from Genpact with better position. HR said they will come back..

My wife recently put in her two weeks and half the people she worked with are just ignoring her messages. They asked to work longer but bc of her new company she cant. Shes moving for about 60% more pay from external audit to senior accounting. Shes extremely sad and im confused why these firms are so uptight about this. Question for tax folks. So I have purchased shares of a public ally traded partnership. I have received a K1 and it shows my portion of income. I will report on my tax return and pay tax. Let’s say, I sell this investment. What will be my basis in the stock? My purchase price? Or purchase price plus the income I have reported over the years? I am little confused and thinking about selling this investment. TIA
