When you’re in industry, do you have to sign an agreement preventing you from getting income from anywhere else like what public accounting firms try to push?

I’m a fairly new manager and there is a high expectation to contribute ideas on how to improve our ways of working, flag up bottlenecks, contribute to strategy etc. We usually have meetings where we discuss these things as a team ( manager and above), but I hardly ever have anything to say. Is there anything I can do to come up with ideas and make more impact in these meetings? Could there be something I’m not paying attention to? Any advice will be appreciated.
