Hi Fishes
I would like to know about the client interviews (especially in data science or machine learning roles).
Are these interviews tough?
Are these interviews meant to assess technical knowledge? For example, what is binomial distribution, what are different data structures in python, ml algorithms etc.
I would request each of the nagarrians to share their thoughts irrespective of the technologies you are working.
I am thankful to you for taking time and helping me out.

Great graphic for this post! I’m a middle child and a born accommodator. That has its pros and cons. I tend to try to have empathy with others and look for win-wins between leaders. When I find those, I’ll use those as anecdotes often to try to influence that mindset in others.

Thx. I’m definitely not a born accommodator but I do have to find that middle ground for my team.
I guess I'm really grateful to have worked in mostly healthy environments. Especially in marketing, I don't really feel like I've ever worked with a team that was overly out for themselves. We all collaborate and lift each other up. Makes me appreciate my colleagues a little bit more, to hear that other people are dealing with this.

My everyday team is great to work with. I encounter some issues when we’re recruited to work with others. I think some leaders hope that my team’s work ethic will rub off on others.
I don't feel like I've dealt with coworkers' hidden agendas very much either. I definitely have dealt with competing priorities or people disagreeing over the direction of a project a lot, but my whole team is pretty assertive and everyone seems to lay out their ideas pretty straightforwardly
As I’m not the one leading these, I pick my battles. Trying to always focus on the end goal, and point out how doing things a way that is beneficial for one person doesn’t make it the easiest for everyone.

Being in UX, sometimes these issues happen when business goals conflict with user needs.

Not sure either, but glad I’m not the only one dealing with it. I ended up just calling it out directly, and communication’s been better...at least.

I’m glad to hear you’ve worked it out. Holding a mirror to some is necessary sometimes.
