Asking advice from a recruiter: I’ve been recently laid off :( This week I took some time to reflect, talk to friends and family. I want to be more thoughtful on my next move and although interviewing right away would be logical I feel I want to take a break and some time for myself. Take a month or two off working and use that time to plan thoughtfully on my next move. Would having that gap in my resume be an issue when I go back to the job market?

McKinsey referral system glitch?

I got a referral from an EM over a month ago. He says my candidate status showed "turned down" immediately following the submission. He suspects it was because the status from my previous application to McKinsey over 2 years ago got pulled into the system automatically. I recently interviewed with Natwest and I got confirmation that they wanted to offer a role. Salary negotiations were started. However, now I got an email from the hiring manager that hiring for my role has been paused due to the ongoing cost of living crisis. He expects to resume the hiring for the role in Q1 '23 and would resume the process then. So is it the end? Honestly, I don't expect him to come back. But what do you think?

How do you guys beat the AI that is screening job applications? I found that if I apply somewhere I get rejected. Whenever a headhunter introduces me to a hiring manager they love my experience and I most of the times get an offer.

Companies like Deloitte, futurebridge, pwc, ey research, etc are offering good packages. Some are offering work from home and some are asking to relocate.

Please don't hesitate to relocate. Interviews are annoying but trust me be positive. Don't choose convenience over carrier. It's high time and grab as much you can. Situations are already worsening elsewhere. Grab as much as you can before the wave hits india.

That was on September 9th. I sent a thank you followup email the next day with letters of recommendation like I had mentioned in our conversation.
