Which career path would be more lucrative - data science consultant or data scientist (at a non-FAANG)?

Data scientists seem to be paid well and do more interesting work (usually, not always) than data science consultants, but it’s hard to image the data scientist career growth keeps up once you’re director/partner level at a consulting firm.

Hey there! Does anyone have leads or advice for pursuing remote internship or employment opportunities in IT while in college? For reference, I am beginning my sophomore year in college with 3 majors within CSCI and am working on attaining my A+ certificate then my Network+. I am partaking in a network infrastructure internship position right now for a large lending corporation (my only internship thus far). 3rd year associate. Former fed law clerk. Working at ID firm. Doing slip and falls and wrecks. Recently received big law offer to do products. Really want to go. Gave notice to current firm.
