United didn't do anything wrong. I don't understand the issue.
They've milked your patronage long enough to be comfortable with not dragging you out of 1st class. As for the other pleebs...
^obviously have not done any research but here's an article to break it down for you. https://thepointsguy.com/2017/04/i-got-the-united-situation-wrong/.
Also united was shit tier before this incident. Delta all the way
Link?
I read this from several angles bc I was pretty skeptical at first and I can't see how UA is not at fault for this. Also do agree the aviation authority used excessive force but let's not deflect the blame like the CEO.
Fact 1: wasn't an overbook situation so UA's poor planning and failure to find an alternative solution led to this situation. Fact 2: UA contract of carriage no longer applies since he has boarded and was now being denied transport. No report on UA providing a written statement that he was being involuntary bumped based on DOT regulations.

Honestly my friends be like "don't be next viral sensation"
My response "I am platinum on united. I dare them to drag my fatass off this plane"
First they came for economy, and I said nothing. Then I found out they'd already come for first class and I hadn't been paying attention...http://www.latimes.com/business/lazarus/la-fi-lazarus-united-low-priority-passenger-20170412-story.html
Only idiots are boycotting. United did nothing wrong, other than their poor response to PR.
I've done plenty of research. Check out Cranky Flier's response, for one. I disagree with TPG completely. It was Chicago Aviation Authority that screwed up by getting violent.
