If the future of finance is software, then I’m thinking CPAs aren’t part of that future (at least not for a while). What’s the crypto/DeFi CPA? Does that exist yet? I saw the CDAA, others, thoughts? https://www.decinstitute.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/B-prop_DEC_Institute_Factsheet_CDAA_-octubre2021.pdf
That’s the dream.

Edelman. Independence goes a long way when it comes to following through on vision. For example, I haven’t heard the words “investment hire” uttered around WS for a long, long time. But Edelman can make those kinds of strategic decisions. Not to mention the WS literature about their offerings is unintelligible bull crap. IMHO WS is more fluff, Edelman is more substance.
Also, making an "investment hire" can sometimes mask our bigger problem: bringing a senior person pm and saying we now have a complete capability or offering without giving them any tools or support, then blaming that person when it's not viable.
Maybe a few years ago yes, but there are no more “investment hires” happening at Edelman. It’s becoming more and more like a holding company due to its size and complexity.
Second E4 - still happening. and the independence factor is clutch. Tho FWIW also second WS1 re the koolaid. The worst are the people who literally have never worked anywhere else so have nothing to compare to or be objective about.
I’ve never worked at Weber but have worked at numerous other agencies. Weber is considered a worthy competitor at Edelman. I’ve been at Edelman for a while and the firm has more than doubled in headcount in the past decade and is grappling with the integration of new talent and a dynamic business environment. I think to describe our culture as toxic is beyond exaggeration. It’s highly competitive and at the moment we’re sorting through significant change such as the new creative talent we’ve integrated. Our work has never been better but we’re in a bit of a fluid state currently. From the chrysalis emerges the butterfly 🦋
I’ve worked at both places and will say Weber. Culture at Edelman is toxic and the vision Kees changing.
Edelman is bad at internal communications to begin with. Despite that’s what they should be good at. Weber people are you as confused as many of them in Edelman?
A place that keeps changing its vision ain’t good.
A place that never changes is far worse.
