The day job has to come first. You’ll need to be firm is scaling back. Perhaps there are others who can step forward and lend a hand.
Could you find other comms professionals that you know who would like to volunteer with you, to share the workload with? Maybe the volunteer org doesn't realize how much time is needed to accomplish what they're asking of you. An honest conversation would help that. Perhaps let them know you're stepping back after you finish what you've committed to. You could even help them find your replacement. The job that pays the bills has to be your priority.
Define your scope with both. Set a boundary. Stick to your boundary.
Do you have set hours you volunteer or is it modified on a weekly or monthly basis? Wondering if you have an opportunity to establish a boundary around your availability from the outset. And depending on what it is you’re doing for them, would it be helpful if you were to offer to train another volunteer on it so someone else can contribute too?
I like the advice above - I would finish what you've agreed to with the women's organizations. Then I'd reflect on which one you want to focus on (sounds like there is more than one). From there, create a clear scope of what you'll do for them. Personally I like to volunteer on a project basis (eg I'll write your newsletter) rather than "I'll be your volunteer comms consultant."

I have so been there and honestly none of the advice given here helped...i just pushed through till the end of my term (served as an officer) and finally just said i was stepping down at the end of my term bc the time suck was too much. I have moved to help other orgs but now i am a bit more cautious to what i say yes to. It's hard for both the volunteer and the organization.
I was in a similar boat last year and had to step down from my board position. It sucked because I loved it and was super passionate about it, but most people couldn’t meet outside of work hours, and it was impossible to make it work with a new job that at the time was undergoing a major acquisition.
