From my past experience working as a fast food employee, they calculate food costs at the end of the month and figure out if we’re over serving certain ingredients. For example, if they know the restaurant served 1000 chicken bowls with lettuce that month, they know how many bags of lettuce the restaurant should have gone through based on the predetermined serving size, and if it’s way over, it’s cutting into profit margins.. then the franchise owner starts micromanaging the employees to try to be stricter about “extras”.

By “they calculate” I mean the franchise owner and corporate monitor these things. When I was a fast food employee, I would’ve loved to give the customers anything they wanted to avoid conflict and keep things happy but, unfortunately, that’s not an option lol
The last 6 months have gotten bad.
I’m sure they’re being squeezed by management to cover rising food prices.
Not on the works, but it is less than ideal

They raised prices again at my local one and refuse to even put extra lettuce…
They don’t want to spend 10 minutes trying to wrap an overstuffed burrito. You get more if you order a bowl and then ask for tortilla on the side.
THIS! 💯

My best friend in college worked at a place that had a requirement of 6 blueberries on the parfait. They were required to charge customer extra for asking for more. She hated it.
I imagine it’s not the chipotle employees but management looking to save money.

Bc it comes out of their paycheck. Duhhh

When i used to work there i’d give generous amounts of rice because thats what usually makes up the bowl. I made bowls for customers that were the size I’d want mine to be. We never keep rice at the end of the night, so any extra rice that was cooked gets dumped into the trash can. And we would often times have 3+ of those deep pans full of rice at the end of the night.

You a real one 💯

Why would you go to chipotle when there are countless better options for burritos? Not to mention their queso is awful
Rising Star
Where?
Lol thanks to the "extra rice" guy above but, nobody wants more rice! We want more meat and vegs, rice is the obviously cheap filler. Nobody at chipotle is reprimanded for handing out too much RICE lol
What I have been boiling about though, is their arbitrary closing times. Since covid, chipotle and similar shops are routinely just shutting down 15, 30, 45 minutes earlier than closing time. I'll run in last minute and the whole counter is cleaned and put away already. It's like these restaurants decided that their opening hours now include closing the store, instead of that being someone that starts after the actual public closing time.
And then everyone in there gets indignant when you complain, as if arbitrarily closing early is just completely normal now and it's my fault for coming in near the end of the day.

Gone are the days when I asked for “a little bit of guacamole” on the side and got a softball sized serving of it

I remember when every burrito I got had to be double wrapped…

And also running out of MANY ingredients sometimes even before 5pm…I only have love for you, why do hurt me, Chipotle?? 😫

I have the opposite experience. A nice smile and friendly attitude will go a long way.
Who said anything about pimping my body? When you have big bewbs it's hard not to have some cleavage show.

They don’t want us to be happy
I worked at Chipotle in college and for pricing and quality control reasons they have a strict company rules for portions. We literally used to practice portion sizes. The meats were 4 ounces and everything else is 3 ounces, and a 3 finger pinch for lettuce and cheese.
