Got messaged by a C3 . ai recruiter. Read that wlb is bad and that the interview process is absurdly long, but the Glassdoor reviews are 4.2 and can't find actual hours worked posted by anyone. How's the culture really? I'd be aiming for DS consulting, something more functional but with DS/ML concepts as my differentiator.

More technical than PowerPoint slides, more strategic than software engineering. Happy medium for me
Interesting and awesome take. Personally I find that I am 50/50 strategy and technical lead. I’m not directly executing anymore - which I miss - but I’ve had the truly awesome opportunity to grow and shape scientists far far far smarter than myself into great technical assets.
It’s a fun combo of problem solving and story telling. But mostly money.

I’m on the applied data side of things, so I don’t have to know how to code or other technical skills while understanding the importance and use cases of data. I love it because it can benefit any challenge a company faces WITH PROOF!

3. I can get analysis done much faster if I do it myself
Because the demand was there. I look at data the way electricians look at wire and junction boxes. As a vet of 20+ years, I find this to be more akin to a trade than some highfalutin’ thing requiring 4-8 years of additional education.
