I still haven’t been back in the office once yet.

I currently only go back 1 day a week. I think level of flexibility depends on your group. I’d ask your hm what the team currently does and what direction his leaders are heading with it

I’m in the Texas office. It’s not too bad. It’s open seating in our area, and you have to book your seats each time. Our group has a neighborhood we book in, so we’re still sitting together. It’s not too crowded yet, so it’s fine for me for once a week

Pre-COVID 3 days in office each week was the standard for Citi. We’ve been told for two years that remote work would never be a permanent option. I’ve also heard that unvaccinated coworkers will be sent back to the office later this year too. If you’re considering an offer from Citi, ask for info on the insurance premiums. They’re pretty expensive and can take up 1/4 to 1/3 of any salary increase you’re getting in the offer.

Friend asked me to join her as cofounder for a fintech startup. Should I disclose this to my firm? Is it better to stay under the radar and to what extent? I would love to stay at my current job and to feel things out at the startup.

Texas Medical Center (Houston) just reached 100% ICU bed capacity.

Wishing the best for everyone in Harris County. Based on every other city/country, if Houston locks down immediately, then the worst is only 2-4 weeks away

Any tips on how to keep my plate full with work? I just moved from civil legal services to Biglaw as a staff attorney (9 YOE), and I’m looking for strategies on how to get work from partners. They know I’m new and I have gotten some matters to work on, but I find myself out of billable work by the afternoon (and today, by 10am). I check in with different people each day to ask if there are things I can work on, but what else can I be doing (that isn’t going to annoy the shit out of ppl)? TIA!
