Stick with it long enough and you’ll do multiples of $200k. The public accounting business model rewards people who stick with it at the expense of those who just want/need the experience
Is that true?
I love blanket statements like this. Getting your cpa doesn’t prove you know anything other than how to regurgitate information. Prove you can do your job then you’ll get paid.
The CPA exudes an arrogance like I’ve never seen before. Most are humble and want to learn but there’s that precious few who think that’s the end all and they should make partner right then and there
For the record I’m not a CPA. I am a CPA candidate and yes, we all work hard in our field. I am simply saying that the demand of this work and the knowledge we have and what it takes for us to become a CPA should be given more respect. Yes, I still believe we should be at 200k minimum cuz this sh** sucks only making 100-150k for the work we do in PA. IT people make way more than us. This profession is losing interest for a reason.
I really don’t see that way TP. If anything I’m actually speaking for accountants with years of experience that are overworked and underpaid

Are you an associate making 100k?
I’m not an associate. I have that title to blend in with the rest of the associates on here lol 😂

You don't get paid "extra" by just being a CPA. I know CPA staff persons who make the same as non CPA staff members. I have worked with non CPA managers who were smarter and more technically savvy than CPA managers.

Yes sir
Lol
What is wrong with you? So entitled
Why is that?
If you can get all your clients to say they will increase their fees and realization while demonstrating to them and the firm you are an expert in the field all for you making that as an associate.
You do realize you can make $200K with some years of experience right… I got there in 10. Not many careers can say that, yet this one can. If you wanted $200K out of school should have become a FAANG software engineer or law grad who goes to big law or doctor, and the last 2 in those category involve hundreds of thousands of school debt and many extra years of schooling and only the most elite students and individuals get there.
D2, I was saying it takes too long for accountants/CPAs to see this. 10 years is a stupid long time to see 200k for the work and hours we put in.
