Best consulting exits for work life balance in SEA?
[query] Is it a good idea to say a firm No due to medical reasons to a new night shift project I'm hired in?Accenture
I recently got a night shift project (2 days ago) that requires me to work from 10:30pm till 7:30am
I'm not comfortable with these timings and I'm thinking to ask my manager to put me on Bench (Due to medical reasons that involve mental health)
Is it a nice idea to say a firm No to a new project I'm hardlocked into, due to night shifts?

Think it has to do with the fact that a lot of these firms are very crowded at the top and people stick around for decades so not a lot of seats available. Also the partners don’t want to give out any more carry/ profit sharing than they have too…
Yeah that too. At a certain point a lot of people realise that no amount of money is worth not having a personal life.
Impact and lifestyle are two big factors
Dude the buyside sucks
PE firms usually have two year Associate programs and once the program ends only 20-30% are invited to stay and keep climbing their corporate ladder. Most people who leave after 2 years did not make a voluntary decision.
I work at a MF and have seen countless associates leave. Also have many friends who've been through this. Also firms are fairly straightforward about this during recruiting and it's a well known fact in the space. Many associates who don't get promoted go do an MBA and some go back to PE at a different firm (usually less "prestigious" than their initial firm)
