Will a 3-year career gap absolutely kill my future?

Hello everyone,

Please let me know if a 3-year career gap will be a problem for future opportunities. I am a bit concerned about how difficult it might be to find a job or if my CTC might be significantly reduced.

Reason for gap: Government job exam preparation
Experience: Close to 4 years

I work at a ‘free market’ firm and have developed a very good reputation among partners. Naturally, they are drowning me in work. Each time a new case comes up, the partner will email asking if I have “time and interest” in helping. When I’m at capacity, I take these words at face value and explain why I can’t do it, and that seems to work out ok with no hard feelings. But what’s the “interest” thing? If I don’t want to work on a toxic tort case, do I just say that and pass?

At what time does appraisal happen at your workplace?

Is it 31st March, 01st April, mid April?

Has anyone noticed language like "Right by xxx location" or "Located in xxx" in the individual location results on Google's SERP? Ex:
