Senior Business Development Role at 360Learning:
Anyone have tips for cover letter/resume to stand out?
They are huge on not negotiating salary there based on their blog.
Anyone know the base salary/expected commission? - It requires you to answer on the application. I would be so thrilled to work at the company I just want to put what they start out at.

Depends on what you want to do next. If you’re looking to go into a business role in Tech, then product counsel. You ll closely work with product teams on a range of issues and be well ingrained in project management along with business folks.

Every lit position we’ve opened up has gotten hundreds of applications
I’m interested in OP’s question regarding lit-exit opportunities. Say as a senior or associate-gen counsel at a big tech company. What are the typical exit opportunities, exactly? Do any go back to law firms, perhaps as a partner? For those that do, would their lit skills be too far behind their peers that they tend to not be considered for partner? Also, how often do in-house attorneys do actual litigation — draft briefs, take depos, etc.? I’m considering making a move in-house but don’t want to fall to behind on my lit skillset.
Clearly everyone thinks product counsel is the way to go. Does it make a difference if the lit position comes with more money and a much better title?
Yes, that matters. You might have more exit opportunities as product counsel but if the lit position is more senior you might have better exit opportunities, albeit in a more narrow set of potential roles.
Product counsel, by far.
Depends on what your interested in doing next but product counsel will definitely open more doors. If the next door you’re looking for is litigation focused that’s the better move for you
Product counsel needs are not going anywhere and every growing tech startup will need. Litigation will likely be outsourced.
For all the people saying product counsel, what are some of the main exit opportunities?
Other product roles I think, but because it is a unique skillset you have a lot of mobility. Competition for lit positions will always be stiff even with prior in-house experience.
Product counsel will always be an in demand tech company role, litigation you are competing against thousands of big law associates and in-house attorneys should you want to move in the future.
Another factor is that litigation is also up and down at companies which is why it’s often handled by outside counsel.
Product. OC can do lit, but they can’t do product.
