With hotels and airlines struggling, do people think credit card travel perks/bonus points/reward systems will change post pandemic? Additionally, does anyone have and is satisfied with the amex hilton aspire card? Thinking of adding this to the wallet once travel opens up.

I mean points are massively profitable for airlines and hotels. I don’t see much changing since that’s where some of the airlines made the majority of their money.

CC use points perks to encourage usage. Travel items are big ticket and were enticing due to accompanying perks from airlines and hotels. With the reduced travel, I would expect CC to shift points to other high ticket items ( home repair, appliances, car purchase down payments).

Yeah perhaps some expanded uses (see: CSR allowing 1.5cpp for groceries) but I doubt it’ll remove any of the travel perks. I also expect that rewards program will extent current status programs through 2021 - they need to encourage their most loyal customers to keep using them.

Friend has the aspire card as daily everyday spender. He loves it and the multipliers Hilton uses seem to be crazy big

Cash back cards give so much more flexibility, especially now. Amex Blue, Capital One Savor, Citi Double Cash are all worth checking out.

When you’re on point to lead a call, and your manager is on the call, is it normal for them to constantly “add points”/interrupt you every minute? I’ve had a couple managers and noticed that every one of them that did this, didn’t add any value beyond what I was saying most of the time. On the contrary, when I had SMs or MDs on the call, they never interrupted.
