Wondering if you put in a caveat in your RSVP that your dinner was a seated/plated dinner? I just want the people in my family to understand they can’t bring an extra person because there won’t be food for them. This happened at another wedding in my family. Not to me but watching was definitely second hand embarrassment especially since the extra person didn’t have anywhere to sit.

I would add a note at the bottom “This is a seated dinner. Please be mindful that we will only have sufficient seating and food for the invited guests. Thank you for your understanding.”

SC1 - Yes - great edit.

Ugh - people are so weird, clueless, ignorant and in many cases, jackasses.

I didn't but I wish I had because the same thing happened to me. Family brought extra guests and there just wasn't enough food which was awkward. I just didn't know a good way to include that on the invite.

I’m going to be saying that it is a seated dinner even though it’s not to hope people get the hint, but we are Latinos so they probably won’t get it lol 😭😭

Listen be straight forward NO PLUS ONE'S.
People need to learn to respect the bride and groom's wishes. Now usually when planning any function you always double it so if you invite Pam it's automatically Pam and one more. Of course Pam needs ro know she can't bring more than one person. Don't be afraid to be firm with your guests. IT'S YOUR DAY!
If people get offended, tell them to stay home. They'll talk about how offended they are in their group chat anyway😏

Can you put on the rsvp you saved X amount of seats for them? If you want to get specific put the names where it says accept or decline.

I did the rsvps online and only the people invited could respond and rsvp. No way to add people.

I have said just that on my invites, no extra
Or plus 1 or plus plus plus invited.

If you specifically say dinner , versus just reception following that implies seated meal. Even if its buffet, they only put out the guaranteed number of seats and silverware and typically assign tables. If you just say reception, people won't assume a sit down meal. So definitly say dinner.

Yes

What's the best way to ask for a pay raise?

When I was headhunted for the job, ESG was a relatively new concept and too few companies hire for related positions. I didn't find any salary range from Glassdoor or anywhere so I had no idea. My fault was I did not ask the HR and just gave my asking salary. When I saw a similar post from my company (I was already hired that time), they were already including the pay range and I realized mine was way below. I'm already 2.8 yrs in the role.

We’re having an Indian wedding on a Sunday with ceremony in the morning, followed by lunch, and then cocktail hour + reception.

Given that the wedding starts early, we will have guests (~30) flying in the day before. What is the expectation in terms of arranging dinner for them? We’re trying to avoid having an additional event Saturday night - any idea on if these guests would need to have food arranged for them by us and what that could look like on a cost effective budget.
