Having worked in consulting and PM, PM all the way. You gotta think about how once you are a PM, you get offers from other companies to be PM there too (think FAANG).
You need to provide more information. What is your YOE, current comp, new comp, long term goals, etc?
I’ll also be making the same switch as you and think it’s worth it. Generally, working in tech seems to be different in a lot of great ways to me, so I would recommend figuring out what you’re looking for in your career.
Generally speaking, I think PM is completely different in most ways compared to consulting. There’s a lot more of a well defined set of responsibilities long term in PM. While in consulting you’ll have the opportunity to learn about different types of work and industries. PM is a lot more attractive to me at this stage of my career because I want to narrow in on a specific skill and build on that.
If you have the opportunity and you think is a good one then definitely try it out! How else would you know if you like it or not? Alternatively, you could stay in your comfort zone never knowing, if that’s something you don’t think you’d regret
