I like this, but I think my hardest thing to tackle is time management. I tend to lose motivation until right before some thing is due, and then I have to rush to get it done. I'm not sure if anybody else deals with this or has any advice about how to stop doing that.

like

I sometimes go through this. I personal just think it is possibly a discipline thing, could be burn out, or maybe just maybe a small vacay time is needed to regroup. When that starts to try to tempt me I have to step back and see what it is that is causing the lack of motivation.

I agree with this list. I have been in this industry for several years now and all of these things are important if you want to be successful in the role. I also think you have to have really good communication skills.

Have been dating SO for over a year. Amazing person (thoughtful, kind, supportive) but couple blockers 1) I don’t know if I’m ready to settle down yet (30y/o) 2) We’re on different financial paths (have self made NW close to $1M vs $0); this puts constraints on trying to buy a place

I feel bad for feeling this way but wondering if these are valid blockers?

Paralegals: My firm is looking for a paralegal, and I see the job posting advertising the salary as $65-$75k, with benefits. Is this a good salary for a paralegal (Greater LA area)? I’m not the decision maker, but it’s been a few weeks with very few applicants. I’m curious if there’s something hurting the firm in its search.

(1/2) I started a new job less than a month ago at a large firm with a significant pay increase. I work remotely- which is a special arrangement. They paid for my travel to their headquarters for in-person training. After interacting with my manager and some of the attorneys, I feel like I made a mistake. Manager is demeaning and rude. A bunch of the attorneys dropped not so subtle hints that people who work from home are causing all kinds of problems. I don’t know what to do.

I did it! I got an in-house Paralegal position after years of working and being burned out at different law firms. Prayerfully, this transition will be a good one.
