To expand on D1 - the customer of Workday or those that implemented it is not you. It’s HR, and they love it. Good implementations start with current/future state assessment, change management, and establishing personas. No one does that because it takes 3 months without any “actual” impact.
Where do I go
I feel the same way about SAP and Oracle ERPs
the reality is that they all probably do an "ok" job. it handles most scenarios pretty nicely but businesses are complicated so there are always exceptions, nuances, and customizations that don't make it ideal.

“Well it just wasn’t implemented properly”
C1, I have the same opinion about my marriage.
*Successfactors enters the chat*
Its always bad implementation, generally never a bad platform.
The entire product org responsible for the job application module should be fired and shot into the sun… (not to be dramatic)

Please add SNow, Salesforce, Appian, Pega, any oracle product to the list. They are purposefully obtuse so they can have a racket in certs and then large consultancies can bill more hours to a fine arts major from an Ivy League to build no-low code than what it would take to just build a bespoke solution open source.
I would take AWS infrastructure, Confluent and Camunda mixed with open source GUI for literally any business application at any scale over literally any of these “low code” SaaS selling themselves as the “easy button PaaS”. Let’s maybe call them what they really are tech debt and consulting hour farms.
*correction - companies pay us (Deloitte, Kpmg, huron, guidehouse, et all) a crap load of money to implement this abomination
... and if they saw our internal implementation of it, they'd stop ...
Ours is an abomination, the most universally hated internal platform.
