I think the biggest issue is that they will probably expect you to know a lot, without the help of outside counsel since they are likely fee-sensitive.

For extra context this is a commercial counsel role not a GC role
Sounds like just contract work? I’d be interested to know volume given a start up. Are they small low value, high volume or just a few, but high value. Depends on how you define grind. It could be monotonous if that’s all you’re doing.
I guess I’ll probably just have to ask for honest answers about time commitment.

If you’re not the GC, absolutely not, and I question if anyone saying Yes has lived a real biglaw life. There’s simply not the same expectation re: 24/7 night and weekend availability, nor are there similar projects of a scale that require you to suddenly, without notice, fly around the world/spend a month in a data room/pull eight consecutive all-nighters/etc.
My big law experience may not be as bad as that but it is getting progressively worse and could become that any day now
