I’ve been unsustainably swamped for months. Partner said they wanted to add an additional, more senior associate to the team on one massive case that went from “stayed” to “on fire” in the span of a month. I said that sounded awesome and the thought of someone else having to take on some responsibilities was such a relief… so why do I feel competitive and threatened now that the senior associate has actually been added? 🙄

Looking to get some feedback on this investment strategy: Contribute 100% of the allowed limit in ESPP program(15% of base) to get full company match(15% of my contribution). Sell it on the same day it vests(vests starting of every month) and then invest that money in vgt and voo. $530k HHI, $250k cash on hand, $1.2M investments/retirement. Plan to buy $800-900k house as our first home, but thinking of the best approach given rates today. My thinking is that we (i) put $200k+ down and get a 5/1 ARM. (ii) put everything we save moving forward toward paying down the principal (after maximizing retirement accounts). Should be able to do $100k per year. (iii) If rates go down below 4.5ish % for 15 year fixed, refinance and stop aggressive payment. Thoughts on this approach?
