Off topic: I am stuck in a service based company for last 4 years in a shitty project. The work I do can be done by a 12th grader. Now i want to move out by learning something new & changing my domain. But the thing is I am not able to study because I am stuck in a comfort zone and learning new thing gives me bad anxiety. It feels like I will never learn & be forever stuck here. Pls help on how to come out of comfort zone, learn things and apply for the job. Tata Consultancy Infosys Wipro

I’m in the same boat as you OP and I’m not doing anything differently regarding my 401K. That being said I was already maxed so I’m just continuing to max.
401k has incredibly valuable tax benefits outside of the match. If the alternative is a regular brokerage then I wouldn’t change a thing.
You can also withdraw from a 401k during covid
I wouldn’t recommend a traditional IRA since it blocks backdoor Roth in future years
As long as your 401k has a low fee SP500 fund you don’t really need more options, just adds opportunity to screw up your investments
I would just continue making the contributions.
Unless they aren’t going to match, or are lowering the match %, then I would adjust to match my match amount.
What % are you currently at? You could decrease your 401k contribution and 8ncrease contributions to your personal investment. Consider if you need access to the money soon or LT. I will say do not decrease the amount you're investing if it works with your personal situation. Consider increasing investment contributions since I imagine your expenses may have decreased being in quarantine. That being said, this is my two cents, there is no "one size fits all" approach
Don’t time the market
Aim for 20% total savings

Where else are you putting money currently? Is it just the 401k. That is tax advantaged, but if you're not getting a match you may want to put more money into HSA or IRA for example.
Also, did your company explicitly say they're not doing any true ups or revaluating the situation at year end? Because you wouldn't want to miss out on that possibility, even if it's small.
