Never ever brought family to company outings. Do I really want my wife to see the cute girls that like talking to me? Of course I never ever do anything with anyone that I work with but my wife gets jealous 😂
Also think about it…what if everyone drinks and then some executive’s 10/10 wife starts talking to you. What do you do? Hide for the rest of the night? Keep talking? I just don’t like that stuff.
I once went to a colleagues music event…he plays drums. His wife had a few and started talking to the entire bar and especially with me. I did my best to not offend him. He fortunately took it on him and apologized. He was a senior guy at work and I was really worried.
We had a few family picnic outings and they were a blast. My company did them at a country club where they had availability for golf, mini-golf, paddle boats, basketball court, playground, bouncy houses and a baseball field. they raffled off some cool prizes (bikes for the kids, skateboards, etc). Everyone loved it. It must have cost the company thousands of dollars but it was worth it. They built some loyal workers through events like this.
I think the family included sounds like a blast! I would love for my fam to see who I get to hang out with all the time.
Probably you work at a place with no single girls with D silicon breasts who come in the office wearing black underwear and white clothes wearing a V neck…oh wait I might still be dreaming of Big4 in Switzerland.

When our company hosted it’s 100-year anniversary, we hosted a family day complete with circus. It was incredibly popular and appreciated by all.
We also hosted leadership summits in which we brought in Employees and they were allowed to bring their spouses. Again, very popular to be able to bring their spouses.
Yes…company events that allow families to be involved can be good for morale. Just need to have rational people organizing the events and remind people to not behave like college coeds.
