BA cuz I’m not Rockefeller and $500 is a lot
British Airways will provide better service than any American based airline.
Rule of thumb if you’re flying international aim for an international carrier
Can you fly one of the international carriers that is part of the delta network to get miles?
Yup KLM or Air France are options.
Ba’s fuel fee will add the $500 back
United all of the way.... BA used to be awesome... now it’s gone downhill. Also, United’s Polaris business class is wicked, even in their 767s
What status on either ?
I'd go KLM or AF... Since BA was absorbed into IAG, they've become a cost cutting machine. I've received better service on Spirit or Frontier than a recent trip to London on BA.
Although, now I say that, I'd fly BA, pocket the $500 and spend it on 2-3 roundtrips on Spirit or Frontier 🤣🤣🤣
Personally, I would prioritize flying your main carrier and racking up the status qualifying miles.
Normally I’d agree but Delta Gold is not worth $500 to me
I actually enjoy BA for quick jumps across the Atlantic; they have recently revamped their food offerings.
However, in this scenario, go with KLM and rack up the EQMs with delta. KLM employees are the nicest group around and treat you like the Dutch family you never had.
I should have clarified, it would be a code share, so either BA, KLM (w/ Delta Silver) or Swiss Air (w/United Gold)? This trip is personal, long-haul. I highly doubt upgrade is possible but it will bump me to the next tier for both point programs.
I didn’t like Swiss air tbh.
BA is fine; good tea and scones
BA, just flew them to London and they did a great job! Very friendly and in flight amenities were really good, pillow, blanket, complimentary wine with dinner and they even had ice cream as a snack, lol.
This feels like table stakes for an international flight... you get a pillow, blanket, wine, and ice cream on Azerbaijan Airlines too
