JPMorgan Chase recently introduced a policy change to increase the notice period to 60 days. I'm a 602 and resigned recently and yet my LWD is showing up as 30 days from now. Anyone recently resigned can confirm if they are facing the same or new policy is in effect. This is causing confusion with the next companies I'm interviewing with.

Depends on the salad. Would I go from $200k to $180k, probably. Would I go from $100k to $80k, probably not.
No idea.
It may not be easier ... Just coming from a carrier and seeing how short staffed some House Counsel are and the pressure put on the adjusters, then on HC, idk though I'm not an atty
My workload should be cut in half
As a fellow ID associate yeah I’d take the pay cut all day for no billables. You won’t really feel $20k significantly imo. That’s coming from getting a $15k raise recently and not even noticing. After taxes it’s a few extra hundred a month. Not sure if you’d be in a different tax bracket, but that could be even better
So i work for a carrier as claims counsel (after over a decade of private practice) and its a great gig. You manage litigation from outside attorneys and the worklife balance cant be beat. Specialty insurance, cyber, surety are all niche areas and there seems to be room to jump to smaller places for more money/responsibility after a bit. I know thats a bit adjacent to what position youre looking at but there is usually to move around once you get “in”. Depends on what you want to do but if you are burnt out by litigation i highly recomend!
I started around $140 in not HCOL, good luck!
The stress is far less. The hours are substantially better. You also can get bonuses and promotions. The salary upside is not as great. But I thought the trade off was worth it.
How is the pay for you?
Depends on the company. Did you make the jump? Were you looking at a specific company?
I did make the jump. 100% the right move so far. My day to day is so much better. More promotional opportunities than I realized. The middle managers here are all making $300k and don’t even really do any legal work, which is something that will be a realistic option for me in a few years if I want it. I’d rather not say the company name.
I did this for $40K and I’m 3 years in and likely going back to a firm
Depends on your current situation . How would the pay cut impact your life today? Can you afford it today? Long term potential? If you can survive the today half, what are the potential rewards? Frequently, corporate can mean more financial rewards than private practice. And yes, quality of life is also a factor.
