God that would be awful for moral.
I’m on chill gigs but I sell more work than most of my peers in a week than they do in two months.
But my problem is not that I want to be paid for overtime, I want my teams resourced properly so I don’t have to work overtime.
There would also be a ton of unnecessary policing on people who “spend longer” to do things, whether they were inefficient or if the task was under budgeted or if they weren’t coached properly etc
Right now people eat hours to save the budget lol.
Yea but not based on hours, based on clients. Pick your client and the worst clients pay the most. Not sure how you’d measure that, just a hypothetical
So the illiterate staff 2 that takes 14 hours to change the font from arial to Georgia in a slide deck gets paid more? No thx
Yeah that's true you would need to fire all the incompetent people first which Big4 is full off as the focus is on bodies
Just curious if incentives were put into place where you are encouraged to work more would impact turnover rates... would you care about mind numbing audit work if at year-end they give you a 25k check as a staff? And scale up from there lol....
Kinda disincentivizes efficiency...
They did this at KPMG a few years back. On top of regular bonus, staff could earn up to 2,500 every six months based on hitting hours for the fiscal year.
It wasn’t anything crazy. I think something like just hitting 90-100% utilization (which was above goal of ~85%).
Yea not paying for overtime is a war crime 😡
Hours wouldn’t be the metric, that would never work. Can’t punish efficient people and praise inefficient people, even if it’s not 100% the case. If you wanna make th argument that the pay difference between tier 1 and tier 3 bigger that’s more reasonable. But you would then run into the promotion structure, that you probabiy don’t want to pay a highly rated experience associate more than an average senior
